About Contemporary Consort

Contemporary Consort has performed at the Purcell Room in London, and at the Royal Albert Hall live on BBC Radio 3. They have appeared at the Cheltenham, Brighton, Exeter, and York Late Music Festivals, and for the Mixing Music Series in Bromsgrove, as well as for the Skipton Music Society and the Petworth Festival. They gave a recital series of British Music at South Hill Park in Berkshire, and they have been an ensemble in residence at the King's Lynn Festival since 2001. They have given workshops at Leeds College of Music and Trinity College of Music in London, as well as at Royal Holloway University of London.

For ten years Contemporary Consort enjoyed a special link with the Royal Co
llege of Music, initially as part of the RCM's New Generation Scheme, supported by the Worshipful Company of Musicians and the PRS Foundation, and later as an Ensemble in Residence to the RCM Composition Faculty. This enabled Contemporary Consort to give a regular recital series at the RCM, featuring music by students and professors, whilst also giving workshops for undergraduates, performing for the film composition course's gala concert, recording students' examination pieces, and collaborating with students and professors on other special projects.
